    • In Person
      • We have offices throughout most metropolitan areas in the United States; however, for your security, we do not accept originals of any of your sensitive documents at our offices or through the mail.

      • All orders are delivered electronically free of charge. Once your order is completed, it will be emailed directly to the email that is used to place your order.
  • Physical Delivery/Shipping
    • Certified and Academic Translations are mailed to the indicated address free of charge. For more information, please see the next section.
    • Shipping Speeds
      • Standard
        • The Spanish Group provides standard mailing for certified and academic translations free of charge. This typically takes between 3-5 business days depending on where you live.
      • Priority
        • Priority Mailing typically arrives in 2 business days.
      • Overnight
        • Overnight mail arrives the next day and is generally guaranteed.
    • Carriers
      • Selected carriers are USPS, UPS, and FedEx. The selection is contingent based on your zip code and selected translation class.
    • International Mailing
      • International mailing is only available for clients that select Priority or Priority Express Mailing. A carrier imposed surcharge may apply in addition to the advertised rates to ensure timely delivery.

    • What is a certified translation?
      • A certified translation is a translation that is provided on company letterhead documentation, certification, and text as is required by most organizations around the world (e.g. USCIS, academic institutions, foreign consulates).

      • Standard Certification
        • The Spanish Group’s certification of translation is standard on every certified translation and is virtually universally valid.
      • Notarization
        • What is a notarization?
          • A notarization is a certification by a notary public. Notarization is required if it is stated in the requirements. If it is not clearly stated, we typically recommend that you add this service.
        • Pricing and Turnaround Time
          • Notarization is a flat fee displayed on the checkout page.
          • Adding a notarization does not affect the turnaround time.
    • Apostille
      • What is an apostille?
        • An Apostille is an international certification that was established by the Hague Convention (1961).
      • Pricing and Turnaround Time
        • Apostille pricing is flat fee, but due to constantly changing governmental fees and differing official processing charges customers must inquire to determine the total cost.
        • Turnaround time is as little as 2 days for a standard apostille and can take up to 5 days if additional certification or embassy authentication is required.

      • ATA Certification is an additional surcharge and varies depending on the document. ATA Certification is only required if it is explicitly stated as a translation requirement.

    • What is a professional translation?
      • In brief, a professional translation is anything that is neither an academic nor a certified translation.
      • Sometimes clients need a certification even though their document is priced as a professional translation. This can be requested at no additional charge.
    • Formatting
      • The Spanish Group provides moderate formatting at no extra charge.
      • The Spanish Group will replicate any document’s margins, fonts, tables, bookmarks, headers, footers, and page numbering whenever possible.
    • Intensive Formatting
      • For an additional fee The Spanish Group can professionally format your original and translated documents for you.

  • Academic Translation and Evaluation
    • What is an academic document translation and evaluation?
      • Academic document translation and evaluations is for students, alumni, and professionals that require the translation and/or evaluation of their academic documents.
      • Academic translation and evaluation is also known as foreign credential evaluation.

      • Academic Document Translation and Evaluation is priced on a per page basis. We do not accept other organization’s translations for quality control purposes and the price does not change if you only require one service and not the other.

  • Transcription
    • What is Spanish Transcription?
      • A Spanish transcriber is an individual that transcribes or changes spoken dialogue into written text.
      • The Spanish Group offers a Spanish transcription and Spanish translation service to and from Spanish and English.
    • Pricing
      1. Pricing for transcription and translation is a flat fee. The pricing will not change if you only require transcription or the translation of the video.
      2. You will be charged for each minute of video sent regardless of the speech density.
    • Turnaround Time
      • The Spanish Group can transcribe and translate 120 minutes per business day.
  • Standard Speed
    • Delivery Time for Certified Translations and Academic Translations
      • 6 pages per business day
    • Delivery Time for Professional Translations
      • 4,500 words per business day
    • Time of Order
      • Orders placed during business hours defined as before 5:00 p.m. PST 8:00 p.m. EST will be delivered subject to the previous delivery rates.
      • Orders placed after business hours, which are defined as anytime after 5:00 p.m. PST 8:00 p.m. EST until 5:00 a.m. PST 8 a.m. EST will be delivered within 2 business days
      • The aforementioned times are a guideline and are not guaranteed. Most orders are delivered within the allotted time frame, but issues found by the Quality Control Department may cause delays of up to 1 business day.
    • Example 1
      • Mateo Rodriguez has 3 birth certificates (for his wife, daughter, and himself) and 1 marriage certificate. Each birth certificate has text on the front and 1 birth certificate has a few seals on the back.
      • Here we have 1 birth certificate that counts as 2 pages and 3 birth certificates that count as 1 page.
      • With 5 pages Mateo can expect his documents to be returned within business day(assuming he places his order during the business day).
    • Example 2
      • It’s Monday morning and Jonathan Martinson needs a 10 page legal brief translated to present for legal purposes on Wednesday morning.
      • Jonathan doesn’t have the electronic version of these pages—only the hard-copies. Jonathan scans in all of these documents and sends them to The Spanish Group so they can count the total number of words. It turns out that there are 6,700 words in total.
      • Normally, these documents would be returned to Jonathan within 2 business days. Unfortunately, Jonathon needs these documents back in 3 hours. Jonathon decides to expedite his documents and selects Urgent Speed and receives his documents before his 3 hour deadline.
  • Urgent Speed
    • Delivery Time for Certified Translations and Academic Translations
      • 90 pages per business day
    • Delivery Time for Professional Translations
      • 67,500 words per business day.
    • Time of Order
      • Orders placed during business hours defined as before 5:00 p.m. PST 8:00 p.m. EST will be delivered within a time frame of 30 minutes to 8 hours.
      • Orders placed after business hours, which are defined as anytime after 5:00 p.m. PST 8:00 p.m. EST until 5:00 a.m. PST and 8 a.m. EST will be delivered by the close of the soonest business day.
      • The Spanish Group makes its very best efforts to guarantee the aforementioned delivery time for all urgent orders.
  • How secure are my documents with The Spanish Group?
    • Your documents and information are as secure as they would be in a Swiss Bank. We require background checks for all of our staff. Your documents are secured behind several layers of encryption before they are permanently deleted from our system after successful completion of your translation.
  • Aren’t you just a middleman that sends these documents to foreign translators?
    • Absolutely positively not. We cross-examine and cross-verify the identity, legitimacy, and background check all of our translators. A 4 year university degree is an absolute minimum for all staff, including translators, within The Spanish Group.
  • How qualified are your translators?
    • Out of every 100 applications that The Spanish Group receives, 3 translators are employed. The Spanish Group is meticulously selective in choosing its staff.
  • Do you offer any sort of referral credit?
    • Yes! We love referrals and we can send you a Starbucks, Target, or Visa gift card after your referral has successfully processed their order.
    • Please make sure to have your referral communicate that they are a referral from a previous client (and give them your name) so that we can send their credit as soon as possible.
