A certified translation is a translation that is provided on company letterhead documentation, certification, and text as is required by most organizations around the world (e.g. USCIS, academic institutions, foreign consulates).
Types of Certification
The Spanish Group’s certification of translation is standard on every certified translation and is virtually universally valid.
What is a notarization?
A notarization is a certification by a notary public. Notarization is required if it is stated in the requirements. If it is not clearly stated, we typically recommend that you add this service.
Pricing and Turnaround Time
Notarization is a flat fee displayed on the checkout page.
Adding a notarization does not affect the turnaround time.
What is an apostille?
An Apostille is an international certification that was established by the Hague Convention (1961).
Pricing and Turnaround Time
Apostille pricing is flat fee, but due to constantly changing governmental fees and differing official processing charges customers must inquire to determine the total cost.
Turnaround time is as little as 2 days for a standard apostille and can take up to 5 days if additional certification or embassy authentication is required.
ATA Certification is an additional surcharge and varies depending on the document. ATA Certification is only required if it is explicitly stated as a translation requirement.
What is an academic document translation and evaluation?
Academic document translation and evaluations is for students, alumni, and professionals that require the translation and/or evaluation of their academic documents.
Academic translation and evaluation is also known as foreign credential evaluation.
Academic Document Translation and Evaluation is priced on a per page basis. We do not accept other organization’s translations for quality control purposes and the price does not change if you only require one service and not the other.
Yes, a page counts as 275 words maximum. If you have more than 275 words then we bill you on a per word or per page basis instead. Before billing you for the outstanding balance we will ask for permission.
Count the number of pages and multiply this by $30. If your document is priced per word it’s usually easiest for you to send it in for price verification (unless you have the word count readily available).

Mateo Rodriguez has 3 birth certificates (for his wife, daughter, and himself) and 1 marriage certificate. Each birth certificate has text on the front and 1 birth certificate has a few seals on the back.
Here we have 1 birth certificate that counts as 2 pages and 3 birth certificates that count as 1 page.
With 5 pages Mateo can expect his documents to be returned within business day(assuming he places his order during the business day).
It’s Monday morning and Jonathan Martinson needs a 10 page legal brief translated to present for legal purposes on Wednesday morning.
Jonathan doesn’t have the electronic version of these pages—only the hard-copies. Jonathan scans in all of these documents and sends them to The Spanish Group so they can count the total number of words. It turns out that there are 6,700 words in total.
Normally, these documents would be returned to Jonathan within 2 business days. Unfortunately, Jonathon needs these documents back in 3 hours. Jonathon decides to expedite his documents and selects Urgent Speed and receives his documents before his 3 hour deadline.
Your documents and information are as secure as they would be in a Swiss Bank. We require background checks for all of our staff. Your documents are secured behind several layers of encryption before they are permanently deleted from our system after successful completion of your translation.
Absolutely positively not. We cross-examine and cross-verify the identity, legitimacy, and background check all of our translators. A 4 year university degree is an absolute minimum for all staff, including translators, within The Spanish Group.
